Solids are one piece of wood typically 3/4 inch thick. Primarily gathered from American or Canadian forests. Typically nailed down.
Engineered hardwoods use several plies laminated together to form planks. Can be glued, stapled or floated over various sub floors. They can be installed on any level of the home.
